As the SLA's Vice  President, Public Affairs, Cliston Brown is the association's legislative  liaison and is also responsible for member outreach, executive communications  and media relations. Working with legislative and regulatory staff and  admitted market colleagues, he led the successful effort to enact California  Assembly Bill 1641 in 2017, facilitating coverage for new and innovative  products in a rapidly evolving marketplace. Cliston previously led the  federal media outreach operations for the Property Casualty Insurers  Association of America (2007-09) and the Independent Insurance Agents and  Brokers of America (2003-07).
