Bio

Stephen Marohn serves as the Senior Vice President of CNA’s Small Business organization. In this role, Stephen is accountable for the profitability, growth and overall strategic direction of CNA's Small Business organization. Prior to assuming these responsibilities in March 2021, he served as the Senior Vice President and Branch Manager for the San Francisco Branch Field Operations where he was responsible for advancing the financial performance, strategic direction and producer relationships in the Northern California territory. Prior to that Stephen was the Western Zone Officer,  which includes CNA’s Albuquerque, Denver, Los Angeles, Orange County, Phoenix, Portland, San Diego, San Francisco and Seattle branches.

Stephen joined CNA in April 2013 after 18 years with AIG, where he most recently served as Executive Vice President for AIG Japan Holdings in Tokyo, Japan. Stephen was responsible for the Commercial Insurance operations for Japan and South Korea. He began his career at AIG as a Field Underwriter with Lexington Insurance and assumed increasing leadership responsibilities in Underwriting and Field Operations. Later becoming Regional President for San Francisco in 2003, a territory of eight western states.

Stephen also has a commendable record of community service, and currently serves as a Board Member for Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS). He serves on the GIS Executive Committee, as Executive Vice President. Stephen has also been a proud member of the Western Division Board of the Insurance Industry Charitable Foundation (IICF) and Chaired the Division. He has also served on the Board of Junior Achievement of the Bay Area of San Francisco and Great Lakes Region in Cleveland, Ohio.

Stephen earned his Bachelor of Science Business Administration degree from The Ohio State University. Stephen also earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
