Tim Moehlenpah is the Branch Manager & Vice President, for CNA in Denver Colorado. In this role Mr. Moehlenpah is responsible for business development, distribution management, profit & loss associated with $170MM in “enterprise” written premium, produced in the states of Colorado, Utah, Nevada and Wyoming. Mr. Moehlenpah joined CNA as the Denver Branch Manager in June of 2008. Prior to joining CNA Mr. Moehlenpah was Vice President and Western Zone Marketing Manager for the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, where he was responsible for all business development and distribution management for the Western United States.
Mr. Moehlenpah joined Chubb in 1989 in San Diego California as a Claims Trainee. From 1991 – 1993 he served as one of the original Claims Examiners in Chubb’s Workers Compensation Core Unit in the Los Angeles office. In 1994 he changed careers with Chubb and joined the Commercial Lines Department as an Underwriter in the Los Angeles office. In 1997 he became an Assistant Manager of the newly formed Commercial Customer Group overseeing four underwriters and over $20MM in written premium for the Los Angeles office. In 1998 Mr. Moehlenpah moved to the Phoenix branch where he successfully managed the Commercial Underwriting operations. In 2001 he transferred to the Denver branch as the Regional Chubb Commercial Insurance Manager until August of 2002 when he took over as the Zone Manager for all Technology Underwriting in the Western United States. In April of 2003 Mr. Moehlenpah assumed the position of Regional Marketing Manager for the Denver Region and in March of 2006 took responsibilities for the Western United States.
Mr. Moehlenpah has served on the University of Colorado Risk Management in Insurance Advisory Board since its inception. Mr. Moehlenpah is currently serving as Board Chairman for the Colorado Chapter of IICF as well as Chairman of The Shelter Foundation which was founded by his daughter to support women who stand beside and behind their First Responder.
Mr. Moehlenpah received his B.A. in History from Washington University in St. Louis in 1984 and his MBA from the University of Colorado in 2006. Mr. Moehlenpah has been married thirty seven years this August to his wife Michelle, is the father of three grown children and Papaw to eight amazing grandchildren.
